The teams at Homeless Action in Barnet and Together in Barnet were delighted to be contacted by the organisers of a reception at new development Square Roots Hendon, which had to be cancelled at the last minute due to last week’s train strike.

A lunch for 30 people had been organised at the new scheme of affordable homes in Edgware Road by award-winning provider Square Roots, the registered affordable provider established by leading developer London Square two years ago.  When the train strike meant that most guests were forced to cancel, the Square Roots team were keen to ensure that the food was put to good use.

Jo McDonagh, on behalf of Square Roots

“Our team discovered Homeless Action in Barnet and Together in Barnet and got in touch immediately. We were so pleased to have made the contribution to the work of these brilliant organisations and we hope to continue the association when our development launches in the Spring next year.”

Joe Lee, Chief Executive, Homeless Action in Barnet

“The food went down really well with those who were staying in the night shelter and also for those using our day centre. Everyone really appreciated it and we are very grateful to Square Roots for the donation.”
